Frequently asked questions.
What do you provide?
We provide a seamless travel experience by learning your travel preferences and curating the best options that fit your needs. This includes everything from recommending hotels to coordinating with local eateries regarding your dietary restrictions.
What are the benefits of working with you?
When you book your trips with Argos, you’ll benefit from the partnerships we have with more than 4,500 hotels and travel providers around the world, including the Virtuoso consortia, Four Seasons and Rosewood. Perks may include hotel credit, early and late checkouts, and even room upgrades! We have direct contact with companies all around the world so you can spend your time enjoying your vacation instead of waiting on the phone.
How much do you charge?
Argos don’t charge anything for most travel bookings. We receive commissions from the properties and travel providers, at no additional cost to you. In fact, we’ll always find the best available rate so you can be confident you’re getting a great deal.
For more complicated multi-stop itineraries, Argos may choose to charge a planning fee. This will always be transparently presented.
When am I charged?
It depends on the hotel or travel provider. Most hotels require a credit card to hold a room, but some also charge a deposit upon making the reservation. Before we release your payment information, we’ll always let you know your chosen hotel’s deposit and cancellation policies so there are no surprises.
Is there a best price guarantee?
Hotels are required to offer price parity, but occasionally you may see a different rate from an online travel agency than the one advertised on the hotel’s website. That happens very rarely, but when it does, we do our best (i.e., contact the property directly) to ensure the property honors the same price.
Do you book airfare?
We focus on areas outside of flight bookings, as we lack direct connections with airlines. This decision helps prevent complications in scenarios like delays or cancellations, where our role as an intermediary could hinder rather than help. Thus, we advise our clients to handle their flight arrangements directly. However, we offer assistance with redeeming airline points or miles as an additional benefit, but this service is provided alongside other bookings through us, as it's intended to enhance actual travel plans.
What types of travel should I book with Argos?
We cater to a wide array of travel experiences, including resorts, safaris, luxury villa rentals, nature expeditions, and weekend getaways. If a request falls outside our expertise, we'll be upfront about it.
How long does it take to plan a trip?
The time required to plan your trip and the associated costs vary widely based on several factors, including the number of travelers, the duration of the trip, the nature of the trip, and the extent of services you need from us. Simple bookings, like hotels or cruises, can be arranged relatively quickly. However, crafting a detailed travel itinerary is more time-consuming and may involve a planning fee.
How do I make the most of my experience when planning a trip with Argos?
Please share as much information as possible about your upcoming trip, including activities you're interested in, food preferences, allergies, dietary restrictions, any disabilities, if you're traveling with children, and any other details you consider relevant. Additionally, telling us about your previous vacation experiences and what you enjoyed will help us tailor a trip that aligns with your tastes and needs.
